O&A: NEW YORK

14mm Snapshots ...

A few days in New York .
One camera and one lens for New York. To make it more interesting, and for lack of an assignment, LeFever decided to shoot the same photos of New York that every tourist takes (except for the usual landmarks).

THE USUAL FARE

Most of the photos were of people taking pictures of each other. Many others were of Times Square, views from the top of the Empire State building, Rockefeller Center's Ice Skaters seen from street level, buildings, Central park at sunset, Ground Zero. Nothing too artistic, nothing far from the usual tourist subject matter.

14MM

To make it interesting however, LeFever took only a 14mm lens with a Canon 1Ds camera body. These are less of the touristy photos and a few that take advantage of what a 14mm lens has to offer on a full sensor body.

TRAVEL

With more and more travel opportunities becoming available to LeFever, travel photography is being added to the services at LeFever Studio.

NY was point and shoot with no real ambition other than testing the 14mm lens in a city environment. LeFever's straight forward no frills realism approach was served well in NY by the 14mm lens, as were his Laguna Beach CA shots with the 24mm Tilt-shift lens.
