REVELATION. the act of making something evident, an enlightening or astonishing disclosure, to lay open to view; display; exhibit: uncover.
In September of 2007, LeFever made the decision to pursue the making of a quarterly journal that would aid in seeing and understanding the sacred space, or more distinctly; the consecrated space. Since 2003, when Lefever was in Paris with his first digital camera, the Sony F717, when he started taking photos of churches casually, the curiosity took him to look for and research the numinous quality of consecrated space. The question was, can a consecrated space move a viewer from an encounter with the space, to a place of human transcendence? Having had such an experience nearly 15 years earlier in il Duomo di Milano, he was now looking deeper into these structures for answers.

The decision to inspire, teach and aid those churches who would want to establish consecrated space has now become one of LeFever's priority passions. The quarterly journal, REVELATION, is planned to bring a tangible discussion in the form of image and writing to those interested in the qualities of transcendence missing from today's Christian churches - for those only, who want to expand beyond the host culture emulation that many churches for lack of knowing, culturally blend.
2008 will see several trips to Europe and through the US, acquiring digital imagery for REVELATION. More on this soon will be made available via the internet. |
