Heavy Objects Discarded in Entropy, RIP, an Off Road Graveyard

Once relied on for their power, these engines of transportation now sit decaying at the side of a Sonoma County road. Still, in corrosion, is a type of beauty. a texture from rust and peeling paint on geometric shape.

Traffic was jammed back for miles and this grave yard offered photo opportunity until the traffic cleared.

Graffiti and discarded clothes suggest other adventures among the abandoned trains. Rusted tracks and weeds and a quiet breeze. Large and heavy steel wheels and springs. The aged train cars, cracked and pitted sit still while automobiles whiz by without woe.

An interesting contrast to the trains of Alameda, where industry pushes forward and the yards bristle with trainular* activity.

*" trainular" is a made up word... but it seemed to fit.
