Q.1.2007 The French Countryside

Misty Frost and Pastel Mornings

23 degrees Fahrenheit is enough to put a chill through your bare hands but the color of the frosted land is an Impressionist painting.

Out & About: The French Countryside outside LaBlanc
LeFever's goal in being in France was to photo document the Priori recently acquired by Patrice and Karen Pinaguy. While there, LeFever was introduced to many of the surrounding cities and villages.

THE BRIDGE

Dubbed the "Laughing Bridge" for its contagious echo of laughter when standing in the "sweet" spot (above), its warm stone catches the early morning sun light and glows beautiful. It is just down the dirt road from the Priori and is a place of healing.

Above two photos and the three to the right are shots from the local bed and breakfast, a restoration of a 15th century property. "I saw the inspiration of the Impressionist painters in the early morning Winter's light," said LeFever, "It was enchanting."

THE SACRED AND HOLY

Knowing LeFever's interest in documenting sacred space, Patrice made sure that LeFever was introduced to local churches. Most impressive was Vespers at Fontgombault, an Abby nearby renowned for its active monastic order. The shot above was taken prior to Vesper Service.
